Minnesota is getting a hit with multiple snow storms this winter season, contributing to 16 inches of snow on the ground in areas away from the main central metropolitan beltway cities. During this last snow fall, visibility was less than a mile and may take 2 to 3 days for the street roads to be completely plowed and free for businesses to run on their normal schedule.

The parks are filled with lots of fresh snowfall attracting snow lovers to ski, slide, skate and even snowboard over bumpy artificial hills which were formatted during the construction of such parks. With temperatures fallen below freezing point, the lakes, ponds and playfields are expected to freeze within a week or so depending on the wind chill readings as well.

So far, we have had minimal traffic derails and warnings are out for individuals to stay off the roads unless it’s extremely necessary to travel. No cars are expected to park on both sides of the streets during this period to ease the plowing crew in maintaining their normal schedules in plowing this heavy amount of snow.

Schools are suppose to resume immediately we receive clearance from the transportation department who over sees and  allocate plowing trucks for snow plowing in the states, county and city levels. Schools’ opening schedules are currently announced through T.V. stations, public radio broadcasting stations and individual school’s message line to check for latest updates during snow storms which should be found on their enrollment handbooks.

If you have elderly love ones who may be living alone, it is prudent and advisable during periods like this to check on them or make a phone call to their nearest police stations if out-of-state in order for them to checked if they are in good condition. Nourishing, canned and fresh foods will be appreciated by these folks and donation bin can be found in grocery stores for such needs.

This is the best period for department stores, sports marts, and specialty stores equipped with snow amenities,apparel , Polaris goods and others to advertise their products and even run sales on certain items with anticipation of introducing newly design goods, such as snow apparel, snowmobiles and tubing etc. in the future.
